Keeneland Thoroughbred Horse Track is ranked for its beautiful scenery and lavish experiences. People from all over gather around for the most exciting two minutes in sports. If you haven’t experienced a horse race yet, I highly recommend you go to Lexington’s very own starting this week. Keeneland College Scholarship Day is Friday, October 10th, and all students are admitted free of charge with your student ID! There will be food, music, prizes and ten, $1,000 scholarships. If you get there early, the first 2,000 students receive a t-shirt or Vineyard Vines hat; not to mention horse races, sunshine and betting for those of you feeling lucky. Keeneland College Scholarship Day is one of the busiest days of the month and never disappoints!
October and April are the race months at the Keeneland track. Located at the track are betologists to help teach you how to bet on horses. During these race months, there are other themed days besides College Scholarship Day. Make-a-wish, See Blue day, Heroes day, Breakfast with the works and American Heart Association Day are some of the favorite in the fall. Keeneland has various other buildings, such as a library, sales pavilion, gift shop and horse barns. Keeneland attracts tourists from all over, including Queen Elizabeth and Bobby Flay! Keeneland is internationally known for one of the top thoroughbred horse sales in the world, and when you visit you will understand why.

Though you might fall in love with the horse meets in October, don’t forget that Keeneland is open every day of the year! You can stop by for sunrise breakfast in the track kitchen and watch the horses and jockeys practice on the track. Now that sounds like a perfect fall day if I do say so myself. In November, come out to Keeneland and make your way into the Sales Pavilion right next to the main gate. Horse sales will be going on and various other events that they keep updated on their website and social media. Whatever the month, Keeneland has something to offer for horse lovers’ entertainment.
